Delegation from the University of Brescia Visits Aristotle University of Thessaloniki

On June 29, 2026, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) had the honor of welcoming a delegation of academics from the University of Brescia, Italy, as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen international academic partnerships.

The visit commenced with an official meeting at the Administration Building (EPICUR Room), where the visiting delegation met with representatives of the AUTh rectorate and academic community. Attending the meeting on behalf of AUTh were Vice-Rector Professor Iakovos Michailidis, the Head of the School of Dentistry Professor Kosmas Tolidis, Professor Elpida Kolokytha from the Department of Civil Engineering, the Director of Academic Units Ms. Aikaterini Kalliaridou, the Head of the Department of International Relations Ms. Dimitra Mentekidou, and Ms. Olga Emmanouilidou, officer of the Department of European Educational Programmes (ERASMUS).

The delegation from the University of Brescia comprised Professor Roberto Ranzi, Vice-Rector for International Affairs; Professor Corrado Paganelli, Rector’s Delegate for Relations with European Institutions, the ERASMUS Programme, and the Right to Education Policies, and Dean of the Department of Medical and Surgical Specialties, Radiological Sciences, and Public Health; Professor Luca Masera from the Department of Law, Director of the Doctoral School in Rights, Person, Innovation, and Market, and expert in Migration Law; and Professor Mario Nicoliello from the Department of Economics and Management, specializing in the Management of Sports Events.

During the meeting, AUTh’s operational framework, strategy, and internationalization initiatives were presented, followed by a discussion on prospects for further developing cooperation between the two institutions. Particular emphasis was placed on expanding bilateral agreements and pursuing joint educational initiatives.

The visit concluded in a very warm and constructive atmosphere, reaffirming AUTh’s continuous commitment to fostering international academic collaboration and global outreach.
