The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) had the distinct honor of welcoming a high-level academic delegation from The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) on Thursday, April 30, 2026. This visit is part of AUTh’s strategic commitment to expanding its international academic partnerships and promoting scientific outreach.
The official meeting took place in the “EPICUR” room (Administration Building) in the presence of the Vice Rector for International Relations and Outreach, Lifelong Learning, and Student Welfare, Professor Iakovos Michailidis.
From the side of EdUHK, distinguished members of the academic leadership participated, including Prof. Chetwyn Chan (Vice President of Research and Development), Prof. Michelle Gu (Assistant Vice President of Research), and Ms. Teresa Poon (Chief of Staff of the Graduate School).
AUTh was represented by the Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy Prof. Konstantinos Tsiousmis, the Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences Prof. Konstantinos Alexandris, the Head of the School of Psychology Prof. Sofia-Eleftheria Gonida, the Head of the School of English Language and Literature Prof. Zoe Detsi, the Head of the School of Physical Education and Sports Sciences in Thessaloniki Prof. Evangelia Kouidi, the Head of the School of Physical Education and Sports Sciences in Serres Prof. Fotini Arabatzi, and Prof. Roula Tsokalidou, Director of the Confucius Institute at AUTh.
During the meeting, the invited professors from EdUHK presented their university’s research and educational work. A constructive discussion followed with AUTh faculty members, focusing on the creation of joint educational and research programs, the potential for expanding student and academic staff exchanges, and the strengthening of cooperation through the Confucius Institute at AUTh.
The visit concluded with a working lunch held in an atmosphere of mutual appreciation, reaffirming Aristotle University’s steady course toward global academic networking and innovation.
