On Friday 6.9.2019, the Ambassador of China to Greece, Ms. Zhang Qiyue, visited the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She had a meeting with the Rector of the Aristotle University, Prof. Nikolaos G. Papaioannou, as well as with Prof. Dimitrios S. Koveos, Vice-Rector for Academic & Student Affairs, Prof. Andreas Giannakoudakis, Vice-Rector of Administrative Affairs and Prof. Efstratios Stylianidis, Vice-Rector of Research and Lifelong Learning. The meeting attended the members of the Confucius Committee at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki: Prof. Petroula Tsokalidou, Prof. Kigitsioglou – Vlachou Catherine, Prof. Pantelis Nigdelis and Associate Professor Prof. Apostolos Kralides, as well as the Head of the Department of International Relations, Mr. Eleni Baxevanidou.

The discussion included the existing scientific collaborations with Chinese Universities in the frame of International Relations and European Programs, with particular emphasis on the establishment of the Confucius Institute in AUTH, in cooperation with the Shanghai International Studies University.
