The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki became a member of the Institute of International Education Network. The Institute of International Education Network (IIE Network), was founded in 1919, is a private, independent, non-profit organization with more than 1,300 institutions worldwide as members. It has been a leader in international education for over a century. It encourages the connection of American universities with other international institutions in various geographical areas, by promoting collaborations on scholarships, exchanges and international educational programs.
Innovative programs have been created within the IIE Network, such as the International Academic Partnership Program (IAPP), in which AUTh has joined in. Several well-known and approved organizations are members of the IIE Network (such as the Fulbright Foundation). Furthermore, other research programs have been supported, in some of which AUTh participates, such as the Greek Diaspora Fellowship Program, the Humphrey Fellowship Program, the Gilman International Scholarship Program and the International Visitor Leadership Program.
The participation of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in this network will offer additional opportunities to expand and promote the work it already carries out internationally, but also to co-organize educational programs with other Universities – members of the IIE Network.
The IIE Network website, www.iie.org, provides more information on the various scholarship programs for students, academics and administrators.
