The Departmentʼs main activities are to:

• award, promote, coordinate and manage inter-university agreements to promote academic cooperation with foreign institutions
• enable AUTh faculty members to come in contact with foreign  universities in order to develop research collaborations and programmes and to pursue teaching activities that contribute to the exchange of knowledge and experience
• promote and facilitate the exchange of students
• ensure,  facilitate,  monitor  and  fulfill AUThʼs  participation  in  international  associations  and organizations
• inform the university  community  on  issues   of  international  scientific  cooperation  such  as conferences, inter-cultural exchanges, scholarships and competitions
• organize the hosting of foreign scientists and delegations
• participate in international exhibitions and events
• provide  administrative support for international conferences, workshops and networks in which AUTh is involved
