In a significant development, Professor Dimitrios Kovaios, Rector of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh), met with Professor Mumin Sahin, Rector of Namik Kemal University in Turkey, on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at the AUTh Rectorate.
The central theme of the meeting centered around the activation and renewal of the Scientific Cooperation Agreement initiated in 2010 and successfully concluded in 2017 between AUTh and Namik Kemal University. The original agreement aimed at fostering scientific collaboration and facilitating the exchange of Teaching and Educational Personnel (ΔΕΠ) across various departments including Agriculture, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Biology, and Civil Engineering.
A key outcome of the meeting was the decision to renew the Agreement, aligning with the objectives of the Erasmus+ program. Aristotle University, within the Erasmus+ framework, currently maintains 84 active agreements with 41 university institutes in Turkey.
Namik Kemal University, situated in Tekirdag, Turkey, was established in 2006. Today, it boasts nine schools and an enrollment of 32,100 students, including approximately 400 international students hailing from 33 different countries. The ongoing collaboration signifies the commitment of both institutions to further enhance academic and research ties for mutual benefit.
