The Agreement originally started on 27.5.1985 with the Universitaet Karl Marx of Leipzig (now East Germany).
The development of scientific cooperation and exchanges is foreseen as follows:
– up to 6 faculty members for a stay of 30 total man-days
– 1 scholarship for the summer Greek language section and
1 scholarship from Leipzig for a German language summer course

In the 2001 renewal it is stated that the number of exchangees will depend on the financial capacity of the University of Leipzig.
